The old town of Herceg Novi

The Old town is located in the very heart of the city center and represents a unique blend of history, culture and tradition. It was built in steps with two large squares. It is characterized by stone houses, narrow streets, as well as a multitude of stairs - the recognizable Herceg Novi stairs. This is a place for those who want to learn more about the history of the town and there are numerous souvenir shops, the City Library with a reading room, the Josip Bepo Benković gallery, numerous restaurants and cafes.

Museum of Ivo Andrić

The museum or the house of Ivo Andrić is another attraction worth paying attention to. He lived in this house with his wife in the period from 1963 to 1968. On the ground floor of the house there are photos from the life of Ivo Andrić in Herceg Novi, then photos from the Nobel Prize ceremony in Stockholm, as well as a replica of the Nobel Prize itself - diploma and medal. The house was renovated from 2018 to 2020, and opened to the public in 2021. It attracts not only fans and admirers of the character and part of Andrić, but anyone who loves the written word.

City Museum "Mirko Komnenović"

Mirko Komnenović's house was built in the 18th century. He was the minister for social policy and public health, and during the First World War he was imprisoned in the notorious Mamula camp. The museum is located near Ivo Andrić's house and only 40 steps from the sea. The museum is of a complex type and consists of several collections: Archaeological, Historical, Artistic and Ethnological. The museum was founded in 1949, and opened to the public in 1953. On the doors on the ground floor, the letters of Russian soldiers from the time of the Napoleonic wars were engraved with a bayonet.

Pet Danica Promenade

The Pet Danica Promenade stretches from Igalo to Meljine, is six kilometers long and is one of the main symbols of Herceg Novi. The name was given to five girls of the same name who died young in the war. Here you can find plenty of nice restaurants, bakeries and souvenir shops. In the place of the current promenade, there used to be a railway line.
