A town surrounded by high walls and ramparts, located on the very coast of the Bay of Kotor and one of the most beautiful on the Adriatic - Kotor. It is surrounded by walls that extend all the way to St. Ivan Hill, which is 260 meters above sea level and to reach it you have to climb 1426 steps. The most famous part of Kotor is certainly the Old Town. It consists of many squares, churches and narrow stone streets that stretch like a labyrinth. The town itself is dominated by the Cathedral of Saint Tripun with its bell towers. In the cathedral, the relics of Saint Tripun, who is considered the patron saint of the town, are kept. The magic of the Old Town is completed by houses that are around 300 years old, a large number of museums and palaces. In addition to the cathedral, you can also visit the Napoleonic theater and the Palace of Byzantium here.
The Kotor Lovćen cable car was opened last year, and in a short time it became one of the main attractions for tourists. The cable car is open from April to October or November depending on weather conditions. There are 48 gondolas, each gondola can accommodate ten passengers. The ride takes 12 minutes and this is a view that cannot be described, but must be experienced.
Kotor is the town where the event "Bokeška noć" is held. This is a manifestation on the water, that is, a masquerade of boats on the water. “Bokeška noć” is held in the last week of August and during that period there are current parties, and numerous musical bands perform in every Kotor square.
